We Like Long Romantic Walks Down the Makeup Aisle

Meet the artists:

I have worked as a makeup artist for over 20 years in Montreal and Winnipeg. I studied theatrical makeup artistry at La Salle College in Montreal and got a job straight out of school as a makeup artist for a modelling agency. After 3 years in Montreal, I decided to move home where I pursued my dream of working for MAC Cosmetics.

I have done makeup for numerous celebrities such as Chantal Kreviazuk, Burton Cummings, Simple Plan, Julie Benz just to name a few. Kelly specializes in fashion, special effects, boudoir and bridal makeup. After 8 years as an artist and in management at MAC, I decided to pursue other interests and focus on my freelance business. I was the make-up instructor for MC College in 2009 and was the key artist for many Nygard fashion shows/shoots and other fashion shoots and shows throughout Manitoba. I have also had the privilege of working as Key artist for the 2003 Nygard catalogue in the Bahamas as well as doing makeup for the Winnipeg Junos. My dream has always been to work alongside other artists, create beauty and help women feel better about themselves and The Artist Groupe is everything I have wanted and more. We have been the offical hair and makeup team for the Woderful WEdding Show 2 years in a row and are very excited to be there again in 2018!

My team of artists are some of the best in the city and I am so honoured to have them come along with me on this wild ride!

I want to thank my hubby, Derek, my amazing kids and my friends and family for supporting me and my crazy business idea!

I am a makeup artist with 12 years experience in the industry. Three years with Lancôme and nine with MAC Cosmetics.I have planned and facilitated many makeup seminars with MAC and received many certifications through MAC Cosmetics including Basic Makeup Application and Advanced Makeup Application.

I have 13 year’s experience as a Hair Stylist and I formerly trained at Winnipeg Institute of Trades and Technology. I currently practice my skills out of my home based business.

The industry is constantly changing so I am always participating in extra classes, I’m a hands on learner and am always striving to keep current with my craft.  Up-Do’s and Styling of hair is my absolute passion!

Some of my past awards include, Wella Young Protégé 06 Gold- Winnipeg Manitoba, Wella Young Protégé 07 Bronze- Canadian National.

I’d like to mention that I have also styled over 60 weddings, special events and photo-shoots. I strive in a fast paced environment and will always guarantee to make sure everything is going smoothly and that we are on schedule!

I’m inspired creatively on the daily by trends, current fashions, fabrics, colors and the changing of seasons. The fun thing about being a Hair Artist is you can create or recreate whatever is current in the hair world. The options are endless and I absolutely love the creative freedom.

My biggest accomplishment is being a super mom to my lovely 2 year old son Dawson. We love to enjoy the great outdoors, fishing, camping, and enjoying a good bike ride or walk! On my spare time my hobbies include painting, baking, cooking, wood construction, crafting, and anything creative.

I started as a makeup artist in 2011. I received some training at MC college and started working at MAC Cosmetics shortly after, where I continued to learn and perfect my skill.

I have participated in many fashion shows, photo shoots including boudoir and have done a multitude of weddings all while freelancing with The Artist Groupe.

I started out at Scientific Marvel Beauty School 22 years ago. I have attended many master trainings in Canada, U.S. and Mexico. I have editorial and Sassoon training. I now work at Cutting Loose Hair Design, Joico-as a Colour Educator and The Artist Groupe as a Freelancer.
My awards include-Finalist and Semi-Finalist(2) for the biggest competition in Canada. I have worked and trained with several celebrities within the hair world.

I have been in the industry for almost ten years. My credentials include basic makeup artistry training in the International Spa & Beauty College in Hong Kong in  August 2006, and basic and advanced airbrush makeup training with Temptu, New York in May 2010. I have also attended specialized makeup workshops with The Powder Group in New York in 2008 and 2010. To keep me abreast with the latest trends, products and techniques, I attend trade shows such as IMATS and The Makeup Show on a yearly basis.  Currently I work for the provincial government but I always day dream about colours, pigments and glitter during my break.

I was hired by L’Oreal Philippines to be one of their colour artist for the Maybelline brand. As one of their consulting makeup artists, I travelled the  Philippines providing basic grooming and makeup artistry training to newly hired beauty advisors. I also represented the brand in media launches, fashion shows and beauty segments for TV and magazines. I have also done makeup seminars in various corporate  and retail settings. I have also worked as a bridal, beauty and editorial makeup artist in the Philippines and have my work featured in Philippine editions of  magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, FHM, Town & Country and Lifestyle Asia. I have also done billboard campaigns and advertorials for Garnier, Samsung, Max’s Fried Chicken and SM Mall of Asia. I have also done make up for several seasons of Philippine Fashion Week.

I have worked with local Philippine actors, actresses and models. As for international celebrities, I have worked with MTV Asia’s vee-jay Simone Heng, British actress and ( and bond girl ) Rachel Grant , and American idol alumni Theia Megia. It was through the artist group that I worked with my first Hollywood celebrity, Actress Lawren Bowles of true Blood.

I started working with makeup in 2012 and I trained at MC College. I am a certified color consultant at Sephora Winnipeg since 2013.  I was trained and educated by makeup artists working in television and world-wide pageants. My work has been featured at the Wonderful Wedding Show, and in Martha Stewart’s Wedding Magazine.

What inspires my creativity is my passion to be transparent. I allow myself to show others that I am human, which indicates that I, just like everyone else am on a learning journey. With that journey comes flaws, lessons and growth. With transparency, I can allow myself to be relatable to others on the same journey. I love witnessing other’s transparency and boldness in their personality and dreams, as it motivates me to learn, step outside of my comfort zone and embrace diversity. Transparency makes me think and see beyond societal standards, which are often unrealistic, fabricated and distorted.

I am currently finishing my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. I love to get involved in community and learn about different cultures. I am passionate about educating the youth about beneficial opportunities that may interest them, while they are discovering their gifts and talents. Such opportunities may encourage the youth to pursue a career based on their interest, get active in sports, or get involved in community.

I love to travel and have made it a personal goal to go on a solo adventure at least once a year. This tradition has helped me to grow in character, while I learned about different cultures and of course, while eating a lot of delicious food!

Something about myself is I must always write my thoughts before I type it.

I graduated with a Diploma from Toronto’s Complexion’s International School of Makeup in 2002, and then worked for MAC Cosmetics from 2003 to 2010 in various roles including Assistant Manager, Manager and Event Planner. I have also had the opportunity to work for the Junos as well as Nygard Fashion Shows.
I specialize in bridal and fashion makeup and I offer services in both English and French.

I have always had a passion for cosmetics, and an amazing opportunity to work for Sephora was presented and like any cosmetic connoisseur, I eagerly accepted! Those black and white stripes became my home for over 5 years, gaining many certifications and taking on the role as store specialist. My passion became my career!

Another passion of mine is the love for my family. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and oh how life has changed! I took on motherhood along with a new career to better balance my family.

Since joining the Artist Groupe it has given me such joy to still be involved within the cosmetic world and to continue my love as a makeup artist. I am proud to be apart of such an amazing team of talented artists who share the same passions! From bridal to boudoir, I can ensure that your inner beauty truly sparkles (with a little highlighter and lipstick of course!)
